Artificial intelligence video platform D-ID announced today the launch of two new virtual avatar models — Express and Premium+, aimed at enhancing the quality and efficiency of content creation.

As more businesses seek to lighten the burden of video production with more human-like AI avatars, especially in areas such as marketing, sales, and customer support, D-ID's new models are designed to carve out a niche in this competitive market.

The Express avatar requires only about one minute of video for training and can replicate head movements while the user speaks. The Premium+ model, D-ID's flagship, requires at least a few minutes of recording to generate AI avatars that can exhibit hand and torso movements in videos. D-ID aims to make virtual avatars more natural and authentic in user interactions by adding hand and torso movements.

D-ID states that the Premium+ model has real-time interaction capabilities, making it particularly suitable for webinar and translation applications. The company plans to apply these virtual avatars in the corporate sector, including lead generation, enhancing customer engagement, and personalized marketing campaigns.

Gil Perry, CEO of D-ID, told TechCrunch: "We believe that face-to-face interaction with AI models is the best approach, so we are creating these hyper-realistic virtual avatars and natural user interfaces." He also emphasized that business professionals will create their digital avatars, and D-ID hopes these avatars will be well-protected in terms of security and privacy, preventing the technology from being used to mislead others.

D-ID also mentioned that personalized video campaigns have significant effects, increasing click-through rates by 30% and conversion rates by 35%. In addition to launching new avatars, D-ID has released a corporate marketing suite, offering interactive avatars and AI influencers, video campaign generation, translation support in 30 languages, integration with platforms like Canva and PowerPoint, and API integration with CRM and marketing automation tools.

Last year, D-ID launched an application that allowed users to create videos from a single photo. Although the new avatar features are currently limited to its desktop studio tool, the company plans to expand this technology to mobile applications.
