Google has officially rolled out the ChromeOS130 update, introducing several new features including Quick Insert, Focus Mode, Welcome Recap, and other practical tools. This version also introduces unique features for Chromebook Plus models equipped with an NPU (Neural Processing Unit), such as a new AI voice recorder application, enhanced microphone and camera effects, and the Gemini AI tool for "Help Me Read" summaries.
Among the updates, the Quick Insert feature stands out particularly. Users can easily insert emojis, GIF animations, or links to recently visited websites with this feature, and can also directly access AI-related functions from the menu.
On most devices, users can activate this feature by using the launcher or pressing the Google button plus the "f" key on the keyboard. Notably, the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus is the first Chromebook equipped with a dedicated new button, allowing users to activate Quick Insert with a single press. More devices will feature this function when they launch next year.
In addition to Quick Insert, Focus Mode is also a significant part of this update. This mode allows users to enable "Do Not Disturb" and schedule specific times to reduce distractions during work, helping users to focus more on their tasks. Furthermore, the Welcome Recap feature is also very helpful; users can enable it to summarize their previous work status, allowing them to quickly reopen relevant applications and web pages and quickly get back to work.
The ChromeOS130 update is dedicated to enhancing user productivity, especially in multitasking and the use of AI tools. For users who value productivity, these new features will greatly facilitate daily work.
