Samsung has launched an innovative AI subscription club plan in South Korea, providing consumers with a brand-new way to use home appliances. This plan allows users to rent home appliances equipped with artificial intelligence features by paying a small monthly subscription fee.
The service covers a wide range of products, allowing users to rent various smart appliances such as refrigerators, televisions, vacuum cleaners, and washing machines. For example, a kimchi refrigerator valued at $2,176 can be rented for just $7 a month.
The subscription plan comes in various types, with the "Smart" plan being particularly flexible. Users can choose to rent a product they like and a service, with the subscription period ranging from 36 to 60 months, and they can cancel at any time. What's even better is that if the device malfunctions while operating under optimal conditions, free repair service will be provided.
This plan not only includes equipment rental but also offers comprehensive value-added services. Users will receive thorough product inspections, replacement of consumables, and internal and external cleaning as part of the overall maintenance. Samsung also plans to expand the service scope in the future to include remote diagnostics and repair services.
To enhance the appeal of the plan, Samsung has partnered with several well-known brands, including CJ CheilJedang and Shilla Duty-Free, to offer additional discounts to subscription users.
Samsung Electronics Executive Director Kim Young-hoon stated, "Our goal is to allow more consumers to experience 'AI living.' Through the 'AI Subscription Club,' we will continuously refine the concept of 'AI = Samsung' to achieve the vision of 'AI for All.'
This innovative service not only lowers the barrier to using high-end smart appliances but also provides consumers with a more flexible and economical way to experience technology. For those looking to try the latest AI technology without making a large upfront investment, this is undoubtedly an attractive option.
