In the context of the increasing prevalence of online scams, the renowned security software company McAfee has launched a brand new artificial intelligence scam detection tool at the 2025 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES2025). This tool aims to help users identify various email, SMS, and video scams before they fall victim, enhancing the security of personal information.

Email, mailbox

Steve Grobman, McAfee's Chief Technology Officer, stated at the launch event: "Scammers are becoming increasingly clever every day. They use technologies such as artificial intelligence to make their schemes more believable and harder to detect. These scams often exploit people's fears, urgency, and trust to gain benefits. Therefore, we developed the McAfee Scam Detector, which utilizes AI technology to warn users about scam information in advance, helping them take control of their personal information and develop their scam prevention skills."

This new feature is completely free for existing McAfee users, requiring no additional action. McAfee's intelligent AI will monitor users' email accounts in real-time, automatically identifying and flagging suspicious emails, detecting and alerting users to risky text messages that could lead to financial trouble, and also recognizing AI-generated deepfake videos. The AI will provide users with clear explanations to help them understand the dangers of these scam messages and what to look out for.

Users of the McAfee application do not need to take manual action; the new scam detection feature will be enabled automatically. However, users may need to link their Gmail or Outlook accounts to the tool to fully utilize the email detection feature. All users who have purchased McAfee +, McAfee Total Protection, and McAfee LiveSafe plans will be able to use this AI scam detector at no extra cost when it launches this spring.
