Google recently announced the inclusion of its upgraded note-taking application NotebookLM Plus in the Google One AI Premium subscription plan, providing users with enhanced features and higher usage limits. This move means that all Google One AI Premium subscribers can now access NotebookLM Plus for free, enjoying advanced features such as customizable AI responses.
NotebookLM was originally launched in 2023 as an AI-based note-taking tool designed to help users conduct in-depth research on specific topics and organize their notes. Since then, Google has continuously added new features, such as allowing users to analyze YouTube video content in depth, converting research findings into podcasts, and even interacting with two AI "hosts" in dialogue.
In December 2023, Google launched the NotebookLM Plus plan for enterprise, school, and other organizational clients. This version not only offers five times the number of audio overviews, notebooks, queries, and sources compared to the standard version, but also allows users to customize how notebooks are shared and track daily views of their notebooks.
The Google One AI Premium plan currently costs $19.99 per month, which includes 2TB of cloud storage, access to the Gemini Advanced model, and Gemini features in Workspace applications like Gmail and Docs. Additionally, students in the U.S. aged 18 and older can enjoy a one-year discount, paying only $9.99 per month.
