Xiaohongshu stated that the governance of these accounts primarily focuses on two areas: account farming in the black and gray industry and malicious marketing.
Account farming in the black and gray industry refers to certain groups rapidly increasing their account followers by mass posting homogeneous secondary creation videos of films and television. Subsequently, they profit by selling these accounts or posting false marketing content. In the past three months, the governance team successfully dealt with over 1 million black and gray industry account farming accounts.
It is worth noting that Xiaohongshu explicitly pointed out that black and gray industry groups utilize AIGC large models to generate homogeneous materials in bulk or adopt trending techniques to create large-scale account farming, seriously disrupting the community ecosystem.
Additionally, malicious marketing in the black and gray industry refers to these groups using accounts to sell illegal or gray products and services. For example, providing "overdue negotiation" services to help debtors evade their debts, or pseudoscientific "divination" services. Moreover, they engage in irregular marketing across various industries, using thousands of black and gray industry accounts to post false and low-quality marketing content, disrupting the normal order of the community. In the tourism and education sectors, they create "fake personas" and guide users to purchase courses through false content.
