Elon Musk's xAI company has announced that the voice feature of its AI chatbot Grok3 is officially live. This highly anticipated feature is now available to users through the Grok app, currently supporting English interactions. According to the latest news on the X platform, users can simply update the Grok app to find the new voice icon next to the "New Conversation" button in the top right corner of the interface, and click it to experience this new functionality.
xAI revealed that the Grok3 voice feature offers up to 10 different modes, including two options marked as "18+" which has sparked widespread discussion among users. Although the specific details of the modes have not been fully disclosed, this design demonstrates Grok3's breakthrough in interaction diversity, continuing Musk's commitment to "maximizing authenticity" in AI. X user @canlee886 praised in a post: "Just speak to chat with Grok, complex issues solved in one sentence, efficiency is off the charts!" Another user, @baravannrway, confirmed that this feature is currently in an early testing phase and may still have some minor issues, but the xAI team has promised to address them quickly.
Currently, the Grok3 voice feature seems to only support English, and it is unclear whether it will soon expand to other languages. The usage is simple: in the updated app, clicking the voice icon will enter voice mode, allowing users to choose different modes for interaction based on their needs. Feedback on X indicates that this feature's launch makes Grok3 more human-like in its interactions, creating direct competition with OpenAI's ChatGPT voice mode and Google's Gemini Live.
This update also comes with enhancements to other aspects of Grok3's performance, including improved comprehension and intelligent response capabilities. xAI previously claimed that Grok3 has surpassed several mainstream models in math, science, and coding benchmark tests, and the addition of the voice feature undoubtedly adds more practicality and appeal. Interested users can immediately update the Grok app to personally experience this "scarily smart" new AI feature.
