This morning, at the first "Representative Channel" of the Third Session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC), Lei Jun, a deputy to the NPC, founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi, and chairman of Kingsoft, answered reporters' questions. Lei Jun elaborated on Xiaomi's role in manufacturing, its technological innovation direction, and its globalization strategy.

Lei Jun emphasized that manufacturing is the foundation and cornerstone of China's national strength. As a significant participant and beneficiary in the manufacturing industry, Xiaomi will continue to firmly pursue technological innovation and high-end development. He stated that Xiaomi will continue to increase investment in cultivating new productive forces, widely applying the latest artificial intelligence technology to various terminal products, striving to allow consumers to enjoy the better life brought by technology, and contributing its own strength to the development of Chinese-style modernization.

Regarding R&D investment, Lei Jun revealed that Xiaomi adheres to a technology-driven approach, planning to invest a massive 105 billion yuan in R&D from 2021 to 2025. This includes a projected 30 billion yuan in R&D investment for 2025 alone, with AI and related businesses accounting for a quarter of this investment.

Furthermore, Lei Jun reviewed Xiaomi's development over the past 15 years. He stated that Xiaomi has focused on the development of mobile phones, automobiles, smart homes, and intelligent manufacturing, and is committed to applying the latest AI technology to various terminal products to enhance consumer technological experience. Simultaneously, while expanding the domestic market, Xiaomi is also actively looking globally, striving to enhance the influence and competitiveness of Chinese products in the global market.
