Thunderbird Innovation is leading a revolution in the augmented reality (AR) glasses sector. With the rapid advancement of AI technology, AR glasses are increasingly seen as a crucial component of future consumer electronics. Thunderbird Innovation's deep collaboration with Alibaba Cloud focuses on seamlessly integrating AI and AR to deliver a smoother user experience.

Previously, while AR glasses could display digital information overlaid on the physical world, effective interaction between the two was lacking. Now, with the progress of large AI models, AR glasses not only present visual information but also use AI to analyze and understand the user's environment in real-time. This combination unlocks richer application scenarios, particularly in areas like personal assistants, improving both convenience and accuracy.

Li Hongwei, founder and CEO of Thunderbird Innovation, points out that AR glasses will provide humans with sensory capabilities highly aligned with AI, making AI a true "external brain" for humans. He believes that within the next 2-3 years, AI will propel AR glasses to become the most important new hardware, creating the next "iPhone moment".

However, relying solely on the general capabilities of large models for multi-scenario interaction is insufficient. Thunderbird's collaboration with Tongyi focuses on tailoring large models specifically for AR glasses to meet particular needs. Li Hongwei emphasizes that AR glasses require sufficient accuracy and certainty in user experience; otherwise, users will find them unacceptable. For example, a road sign recognition accuracy of only 50% would be unsettling for users.

To achieve this goal, Thunderbird chose Tongyi's large model due to its excellent performance in multi-modal recognition, handling images, text, video, and audio. Users wearing AR glasses can obtain real-time interpretations of their surroundings simply through the camera, such as identifying unknown plants or buildings. Furthermore, the Tongyi model offers instant translation, enabling seamless communication even in unfamiliar countries and significantly improving communication efficiency.

The collaboration between Thunderbird Innovation and Tongyi not only enhances the interactive experience of AR glasses in various scenarios but also unlocks new opportunities for the future consumer electronics industry.
