Google recently announced the official pricing for its Gemini 2.5 Pro API. For input tokens up to 200,000, the base price is $1.25 per million input tokens (approximately ¥9.1), while the price for output tokens is $10 per million (approximately ¥72.9).
For longer inputs exceeding 200,000 tokens, the input price increases to $2.50 per million (approximately ¥18.2), and the output token price rises to $15 per million (approximately ¥109).
Compared to other Google AI models, Gemini 2.5 Pro is significantly more expensive. Its pricing is also higher than some other leading AI services. For instance, OpenAI's o3-mini costs $1.10 per million input tokens and $4.40 per million output tokens; DeepSeek's R1 costs $0.55 and $2.19 respectively. However, Gemini 2.5 Pro offers free usage under certain rate limits.
It's worth noting that API prices for top-tier AI models are generally increasing. OpenAI's newly launched o1-pro, for example, is now their most expensive API, priced at a staggering $150 per million input tokens (approximately ¥1093) and $600 per million output tokens. Google CEO Sundar Pichai revealed that Gemini 2.5 Pro is highly popular among developers, with usage on Google AI Studio and the Gemini API increasing by 80% this month alone.
