Academician Tan Tieniu of the Chinese Academy of Sciences delved into the development, application, and challenges of generative artificial intelligence. He pointed out that the technology and application areas of generative AI are continuously expanding, yet it still faces multiple challenges. Among these, there is a risk of lacking technological dominance in the field of AI in China, necessitating a multi-pronged approach, precise policy-making, enhanced regulation, and ensuring healthy and sustainable development. Generative AI holds a broad application prospect, especially in human-machine collaborative creation, where it has immense potential. However, Academician Tan also emphasized that generative AI is not perfect and still needs to overcome several challenges, such as interpretability, reliability, and generalization issues.
