Google plans to charge large enterprises $30 per user per month for access to the AI-enhanced features it is adding to Gmail and other productivity applications. This technology, known as "Duet AI," carries the same fee as Microsoft's 365 Copilot enhancement, which is expected to launch in the first half of next year. Aparna Pappu, Vice President and General Manager of Google Workspace, stated that companies can join a free trial before committing to a subscription. For smaller organizations and individual users, the company has not yet finalized pricing. Google has been making progress, and Workspace now boasts 10 million paying customers, up from 9 million in March and 6 million in 2020.
