IBM has recently introduced watsonx Code Assistant, a coding aid that leverages generative artificial intelligence technology to assist enterprise developers and IT operations personnel in coding more quickly and accurately through natural language prompts. This product currently focuses on two enterprise application scenarios: one is to complete tasks such as network configuration and code deployment through IT automation, and the other is to facilitate the modernization of mainframe applications, enabling the conversion from COBOL to Java on IBM Z. IBM states that watsonx Code Assistant can accelerate the development process while adhering to principles of trust, security, and compliance. With the launch of this product, IBM's growing series of watsonx assistants gains a new member, providing enterprises with a fresh avenue to implement generative AI.
