With the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology, the application of AI-generated texts, images, and videos has matured across various fields. However, this has also been accompanied by a trust crisis, as the spread of misinformation poses a potential threat to society. To address this challenge, Tencent recently launched a brand new AI generated content detection tool aimed at 'countering fake AI' through AI technology. Developed by Tencent's Zhuque Laboratory, the tool consists of two systems: AI-generated text detection and AI-generated image detection.

There has been an internal discussion at OpenAI regarding the introduction of watermark technology to tag text generated by ChatGPT and prevent student plagiarism. The watermark technology generates detectable patterns by adjusting the words and phrases predicted by the model, aimed at assisting teachers in detecting assignment plagiarism without affecting text quality. Although the technology boasts high accuracy and is resistant to simple rewrites, the use of other models to rewrite could bypass the watermark, raising concerns. Implementing watermarks may cause some users to feel stigmatized, potentially leading to reduced usage.

OpenAI is developing a highly accurate AI detection tool capable of identifying AI-generated images. OpenAI's Chief Technology Officer, Mira Murati, stated that the tool has a reliability rate of 99%. This tool is of significant importance in preventing fake news reports. OpenAI also plans to release a new artificial intelligence model following GPT-5.
