Cisco recently released a research report on CEOs in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). The report shows that while 97% of CEOs plan to integrate AI into their businesses, only 2% believe they are ready for AI. This survey covered over 2,500 CEOs from more than 250 companies across Europe, North America, South America, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region, all aged 25 and older. In the face of an unclear global economic situation, CEOs in Australia and around the world are increasingly enthusiastic about investing in generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI). This is the result of KPMG International's annual CEO outlook survey. According to the survey, 58% of Australian CEOs and 64% of global CEOs believe that generative AI is an important area for investment. The report also indicates that despite economic challenges, CEOs are optimistic about the future growth of their companies.

25% of global CEOs anticipate that the deployment of generative artificial intelligence will lead to at least a 5% reduction in workforce this year. The media, banking, insurance, and logistics sectors are most likely to foresee layoffs due to advanced AI tools. 46% of CEOs expect that the use of generative AI in the next 12 months will enhance profitability. AI models are expected to have a profound impact on the economy and society.

According to an EY survey, global CEOs are confused by the uncertainty surrounding generative AI. CEOs in the U.S. face pressure to deploy generative AI, but the uncertainty surrounding the technology puts them in a 'dilemma'. CEOs recognize the need to act swiftly regarding generative AI, but an equal proportion express that the uncertainty of the technology 'hinders' them.
