Harvard Medical School and the University of Oxford have collaborated to develop the EVEscape AI tool, which accurately predicts virus variants, including COVID-19. This tool has the capability to predict signs of viral mutations and the effectiveness of antibody therapies, and it can also forecast mutation trajectories for viruses such as HIV and influenza. EVEscape combines generative models with detailed biological information to make early predictions about virus variants. The research team releases a list of the most likely new virus variants every two weeks, broadening the tool's coverage to address more unstudied pathogens.
