The European Union recently released a draft of guidelines for the behavior of General-Purpose AI (GPAI) models, aimed at providing companies with a framework to comply and avoid hefty fines. The document is set to be finalized in May and outlines risk management guidelines, offering a blueprint for compliance and avoidance of significant penalties. GPAI refers to AI that has been trained with a total computational power exceeding 10²⁵ FLOP. Companies expected to be bound by the EU guidelines include OpenAI, Google, Meta, Anthropic, and Mistral.

Recently, Xiaomi Group announced that its voice assistant, Xiao Ai, has been upgraded to the new Super Xiao Ai. This upgrade marks the transition of Xiao Ai from a single voice interaction feature to a comprehensive ecological AI smart assistant with thinking and execution capabilities. Xiaomi Group's Lu Weibing stated that Super Xiao Ai will no longer be limited to devices but will be integrated into users' daily lives, providing smarter services.

The EU has initiated a consultation on rules for providers of General AI Models (GPAI), aiming to provide guidance for compliance with the EU AI Act legal obligations and ensure the 'trustworthiness' of GPAI. The consultation is divided into three parts, focusing on transparency, risk classification and assessment, and the review and monitoring of codes of conduct, to establish relevant behavioral guidelines. Participants include GPAI providers, businesses, civil society, rights holders, and academic experts, whose feedback will influence the formulation of the behavioral guidelines, particularly regarding the summary of model training content.
