Baidu's Intelligent Driving Group (IDG) has experienced another round of personnel changes. According to a report by Xin智驾, Su Tan, the general manager of IDG's Intelligent Vehicle Business Unit, has left the company, and his responsibilities for the intelligent cockpit business have been taken over by Li Tao.
Su Tan joined Baidu in 2013, serving as the general manager of the company's Connected Vehicle Division and the general manager of the Intelligent Driving Integration Innovation Division. In July 2023, following the departure of his predecessor Chu Ruisong, Su Tan took over all Tier1 business except JiDu (now JiYue), overseeing the AIAD (Apollo Intelligent Automobile Department) of the Intelligent Vehicle Business Unit.

Baidu began its autonomous driving initiatives in 2013 and launched the Apollo brand in 2017, establishing the Intelligent Driving Group. Currently, IDG's business spans autonomous driving services, vehicle intelligence, and Baidu Maps. As a "partner in vehicle intelligence" for automakers, Baidu's Apollo offers a comprehensive suite of intelligent vehicle solutions including intelligent cockpits, intelligent driving, and maps.
It is noteworthy that in November 2023, Wang Yunpeng succeeded Li Zhenyu as the new head of Baidu's IDG. In this round of personnel adjustments, Li Tao took over the intelligent cockpit business, and the large-scale intelligent cockpit products have been successively mass-produced and implemented.
This high-level change may affect the future direction of Baidu's intelligent driving business. Industry insiders are generally paying attention to Baidu's next steps in the field of intelligent driving, particularly in the development of intelligent cockpit business and large-scale model applications.
