Troubled startup Humane announced on Wednesday a $200 price cut for its flagship product, the Ai Pin. Reportedly, this Bay Area startup, founded by two former Apple executives, has been struggling to sell the device, which was launched in April at a price of $700.

The new price is $499, which includes the first month of the Humane Plan. The company also emphasized its return policy, offering a 90-day return period, in an attempt to make consumers feel risk-free.

However, critics have not responded well to the device. As of August, the return volume of Ai Pin had exceeded sales, leaving approximately 7,000 to 8,000 units in the hands of users.

Due to poor reviews and lackluster sales, the company began considering a sale in May. Whether the price reduction can stimulate sales and help Humane out of its predicament remains to be seen.
