The world's largest technical professional organization, IEEE, recently released a study report titled "Technological Impacts Beyond 2025." This report surveyed 355 tech leaders from Brazil, China, India, the UK, and the USA, delving into future technological development trends.
The survey reveals that 58% of respondents believe that intelligent technology will be the most influential tech field by 2025, marking the second consecutive year it has topped the list. Following closely are cloud computing (26%) and robotics (24%). Other highly anticipated fields include extended reality (21%), industrial IoT (19%), quantum computing (17%), and electric vehicle technology (17%).

Tech leaders generally believe that 2025 will mark a significant turning point in the application of technology. 91% of respondents anticipate higher public demands for accuracy, transparency, and other aspects of tech applications. Despite this, most institutions plan to continue advancing related technologies, with only 18% of respondents indicating the need to re-evaluate their tech strategies.
IEEE Senior Member Eleanor Watson pointed out, "A new generation of autonomous systems is about to emerge, bringing new functionalities but also requiring careful handling of potential security risks."
The survey also shows that real-time cybersecurity protection, personalized learning systems, intelligent educational tutoring, and software development assistance will be the most promising application scenarios. In terms of talent demand, software development skills, ethical tech practices, and data analysis abilities are most valued.
The report predicts that telecommunications, banking and financial services, and media entertainment will be the three industries most significantly transformed by technology by 2025. This comprehensive survey report not only reflects global technological trends but also provides crucial reference points for industry transformation and talent cultivation.
