Google is currently testing a new feature called "Daily Listen," which uses artificial intelligence technology to generate personalized podcast-style summaries for users in the Discover feed. This technology aims to provide users with a more concise and engaging content experience, helping them quickly understand topics of interest.

The "Daily Listen" feature will compile audio programs of about five minutes based on the topics and stories users follow. These audio programs will be displayed in the carousel area just below the search bar in the Google mobile app. Users in the U.S. who want to try this feature can enable "Daily Listen" through Google’s Search Labs on their Android or iOS devices. Once activated, users will receive their first AI-generated audio program the following day.

It is worth noting that this technology shares a similar background with Google’s NotebookLM podcast system. In processing textual information, these audio summaries may sometimes combine facts, especially when trying to digest and synthesize a large amount of different content. Therefore, users should view these summaries as helpful but not always accurate assistants, rather than authoritative sources of information.

"Daily Listen" is a new attempt by Google in the field of personalized content services, utilizing artificial intelligence to help users conveniently access podcast content of interest, bringing new options to daily information consumption.
