American ride-hailing giant Lyft has partnered with AI company Anthropic to jointly launch an AI-driven product aimed at enhancing the ridesharing experience for Lyft users. This collaboration was officially announced on the 6th of this month and is expected to provide higher quality services to Lyft's vast rideshare community. Lyft serves over 40 million passengers and one million drivers each year, making the impact of this project significant.

The first outcome of this collaboration is a Lyft AI customer service assistant powered by the Anthropic Claude model. This assistant is already in use and handles thousands of customer requests daily, with the ability to quickly transfer to human customer service when needed. According to data, the introduction of this AI assistant has reduced the average resolution time for customer service issues by 87%.
