Recently, Rabbit Company released a blog post and a video showcasing the features of its "Versatile Android Agent." This agent can control applications on Android tablets, demonstrating capabilities that were lacking in the Rabbit R1 device as promised a year ago. Although the Humane AI Pin has faced setbacks, Rabbit seems to be pushing forward.
In this demonstration, the engineers did not use the Rabbit R1 device, but instead input requests on a laptop, translating those commands into actions on the Android tablet. For example, they asked the AI agent to find YouTube videos, search for whiskey cocktail recipes, and add the required ingredients to a Google Keep shopping list. More interestingly, they also had the AI agent download the puzzle game 2048 and attempt to learn how to play it on its own, although this process appeared to be somewhat slow.
While this AI agent can handle most requests, there were occasional minor issues, such as sending a poem line by line on WhatsApp instead of sending the entire content at once. One engineer mentioned that they should have included line breaks in the request, but they did not attempt to resubmit it. This indicates that Rabbit's AI agent is still evolving and has room for improvement.
Since the launch of the Rabbit R1, the company has been making updates, such as enabling the AI agent to complete specific tasks or allowing it to redo its own interface. However, Rabbit pointed out in the blog post that this demonstration was merely a showcase of the core operational loop of the Android agent, and they plan to release more information about the "cross-platform multi-agent system" in the future, hoping to provide users with a more comprehensive experience.
