Apple Inc. announced early this morning through its official website that the Apple Smart feature is set to receive a major update, significantly expanding its supported languages. The newly added languages include French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese, along with localized English versions for Singapore and India.

According to Apple's official information, these new language features are expected to roll out globally in April with the release of iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, and macOS Sequoia 15.4. Developers can start testing the relevant updates from today.

It is important to note that for the Chinese market, Apple specifically mentioned that the launch date of the Apple Smart feature will depend on the approval progress from regulatory authorities. This means that if the approval is not granted by April, the Apple Smart feature will temporarily be unavailable for use in the country.

Currently, Alibaba has confirmed its collaboration with Apple to provide localized services for Apple Smart. Apple has stated that it has submitted the AI features for approval to the relevant authorities, aiming to launch them in the Chinese market as soon as possible.

With this software update, iPhone and iPad users in the EU will experience the Apple Smart feature for the first time. Additionally, Apple Smart will expand to new platforms through Apple Vision Pro, supporting American English and providing users with new ways to communicate, collaborate, and express themselves.

Apple emphasized that the launch of Apple Smart represents a significant advancement in AI privacy protection. The feature is designed to protect user privacy at every stage, starting from processing tasks on the device. Many of the models used by Apple Smart run exclusively on the device, ensuring the security of user data.

Looking ahead, Apple revealed that Apple Smart will continue to expand its features in the coming months, including more innovative applications related to Siri.
