The Guangdong Provincial People's Government Information Office held a press conference in Guangzhou to introduce the “Several Policy Measures to Promote the Innovative Development of the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Industry in Guangdong Province.” It was revealed that in 2024, Guangdong's core artificial intelligence industry will exceed 220 billion yuan in scale, firmly securing its position at the forefront of the nation.

By 2024, Guangdong Province is expected to have over 1500 core artificial intelligence enterprises, ranking first nationally in the number of national specialized and new “small giant” enterprises. Furthermore, Guangdong's industrial robot production has seen significant growth, increasing from 44,700 units in 2019 to 246,800 units in 2024. Since 2020, industrial robot production has maintained the national leading position for five consecutive years, and a complete humanoid robot industry chain covering "brain - five senses - limbs" has been initially established.

To further propel the development of this industry, the Guangdong Provincial Government has formulated a series of supportive policies. These policies, focusing on enterprise needs, prioritize the supply of capital, talent, and land resources. They propose 12 specific measures, including supporting core technological breakthroughs, cultivating high-quality enterprises, creating application scenarios, cultivating and attracting talent, and promoting the construction of a standard system. These measures aim to accelerate the construction of a global highland for the artificial intelligence and robotics industry, driving continuous innovation and development throughout the sector.
