MediaTek today officially launched its next-generation flagship chip, the Dimensity 9400, which is the first flagship chip in the Android camp to adopt a 3nm process, crafted using TSMC's second-generation 3nm process technology. The Dimensity 9400 achieves a significant leap in performance with an upgraded second-generation all-large-core architecture, comprising one 3.62GHz Cortex-X925 super core, three Cortex-X4 super cores, and four Cortex-A720 large cores, resulting in a 35% improvement in single-core performance and a 28% improvement in multi-core performance.

Meta released Llama3.2 at its annual Meta Connect 2024 conference, aiming to enhance the capabilities of edge AI and visual tasks. The newly launched Llama3.2 model includes medium visual models with 1.1 billion and 9 billion parameters, as well as small models with 100 million and 300 million parameters, specifically optimized for use on mobile devices, supporting Qualcomm and MediaTek hardware. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated that these models will assist developers in achieving results without the need for large resources.

The Dimensity 8300 utilizes TSMC's second-generation 4nm process, featuring an octa-core CPU with 4 Cortex-A715 performance cores and 4 Cortex-A510 efficiency cores, resulting in a 20% performance improvement and a 30% reduction in peak power consumption. The Dimensity 8300 is equipped with a 6-core Mali-G615 GPU and a new generation 'Star Speed Engine'.
