As reported, professional networking site LinkedIn has confirmed that it will be laying off 668 employees. The majority of these job cuts will take place within the research and development department, affecting teams such as engineering and product. This round of layoffs comes after LinkedIn reduced its workforce by 716 employees just five months ago. Consequently, the total number of employees laid off by LinkedIn will increase to 1384. LinkedIn stated that after the layoffs, it will continue to invest in strategic priorities for the future to ensure continued value for its clients, with a focus potentially including the hiring of more artificial intelligence talent. Industry analysts believe that following this round of layoffs, LinkedIn may increase its investment and application of artificial intelligence technology.
