According to recently released LinkedIn data, global demand for artificial intelligence (AI) talent is rapidly increasing. To meet this challenge, many countries are actively cultivating and attracting AI professionals. LinkedIn, using its "AI Talent Concentration" metric, analyzed the AI talent supply in different countries. Below are the top ten countries with the highest AI talent concentration in 2024.

Israel leads the world in 2024, with AI talent representing 1.98% of its national workforce. Singapore follows closely behind at 1.64%. Luxembourg ranks third with 1.44%. Estonia, Switzerland, Finland, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, and South Korea occupy the fourth to tenth positions, respectively, with talent percentages ranging from 1.17% to 1.06%.

It's noteworthy that these countries are generally smaller in geographic area and population, yet excel in AI talent cultivation and development. They've fostered robust ecosystems, with strong corporate investment in employee skill development and government policies promoting continuous learning, providing significant support for AI talent cultivation.

According to Cai Peiying, LinkedIn's Chief Economist for Asia Pacific, while India didn't make the top ten, its AI talent concentration increased by 252% between 2016 and 2024. This demonstrates Indian professionals' proactive approach to upskilling in AI. Furthermore, in 2024, India saw a year-over-year increase in AI recruitment demand of 33.4%, exceeding Singapore's 25% and the United States' 24.7%.

Singapore's competitiveness in AI talent development is also significant. Cai Peiying noted that Singapore's culture emphasizes learning, with professionals dedicating 40% more time to learning AI skills than their counterparts in other Asia-Pacific countries. As AI technology rapidly advances, the demand for AI skills among businesses and individuals will only continue to rise.
