Disney is establishing a new department called the Office of Technology Enablement to integrate emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and mixed reality into its film, television, and theme park businesses.
The department will be led by Jamie Voris, who currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the film studio. Voris's position will be taken over by Eddie Drake.
The goal of the Office of Technology Enablement is to ensure that technology projects align with Disney's strategic objectives without centralizing these projects. Insiders reveal that the office is expected to expand to about 100 employees.
This new initiative demonstrates Disney's proactive approach to technological innovation and application, aiming to enhance user experience by integrating cutting-edge technologies and maintain a leading position in the competitive entertainment industry. With the development of AI and mixed reality technologies, Disney is poised to achieve new breakthroughs in content creation, audience interaction, and immersive experiences.
