Shen emphasized that AI is considered a crucial driving force behind the new round of technological and industrial revolution. In recent years, the rapid development of AI technology has attracted increasing attention, fueled by the rise of domestic large language models like Deepseek. In response, the CNIPA is actively promoting innovation in the AI-related intellectual property system to support the field's growth.

Specifically, the CNIPA has promptly revised the Patent Examination Guidelines and issued the Guidelines for AI-Related Invention Patent Applications to address common issues in AI patent applications. The CNIPA also focuses on key AI areas, providing expedited examination services for relevant patents and cracking down on malicious trademark squatting to ensure robust intellectual property protection.

Looking ahead, Shen stated that the CNIPA will continue to promote the deep integration of intellectual property and AI. This includes perfecting intellectual property protection rules in emerging fields to ensure the legal framework effectively supports AI development, and enhancing the protection and utilization of intellectual property to better serve related industries and facilitate the transition of more patents from the laboratory to practical application.

In 2024, China saw encouraging intellectual property authorization figures: 1.045 million invention patents were authorized, 4.781 million trademarks were registered, and 10.631 million copyrights were registered. China also performed exceptionally well in international intellectual property applications, ranking first globally in PCT international patent applications and Hague System design applications, and third in Madrid trademark international registrations.

Market regulation departments nationwide actively investigated and handled intellectual property infringement cases, maintaining market order and raising public awareness. In recent years, public satisfaction with intellectual property protection has steadily increased, reaching a record high of 82.36 points, reflecting public recognition and expectations for intellectual property protection efforts.
