Adobe has announced the launch of a brand new AI tool—Adobe Firefly Bulk Create, designed to simplify image editing tasks for creative professionals in enterprises. This tool is closely integrated with the Adobe Firefly Services API suite, allowing users to batch edit multiple photos through a web application, significantly enhancing the productivity of creative teams.

One of the highlights of Bulk Create is that there is no need to download a desktop application or obtain a Photoshop license; enterprises only need to pay for Adobe Firefly services to access this tool via the web platform. The current version of Bulk Create supports two basic functions: background change and image resizing. Users can use the Firefly model to remove or replace the background of all uploaded photos at once and generate a new background to upload to the platform. Additionally, Bulk Create offers preset dimensions tailored for popular social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, helping users easily resize their images.

Moreover, Bulk Create features brand customization, allowing users to adjust the appearance of images according to their brand preferences, making them more aligned with the company’s image. Although the platform is currently in private testing, Adobe expects to fully launch it in the first quarter of this year.

Hannah Elsakr, Vice President of Adobe Firefly GenAI Enterprise Edition, mentioned in an interview with VentureBeat that balancing the number of images with the time for updates and edits is a significant challenge for creative teams in enterprises. She stated that with the increasing number of digital channels, creative teams face unprecedented demands for content updates, particularly the need to regularly update product photos on websites and social media, especially seasonal product images, which may require updates 52 times a year, with a new photo each week.

Taking high-quality photos can be costly, making image editing through Bulk Create, particularly background replacement or resizing, a more efficient and cost-effective option. While Photoshop remains the preferred tool for many users, Bulk Create provides a convenient solution for those without a Photoshop license.

Currently, Bulk Create only supports image editing features, but Elsakr indicated that video support is expected to be launched soon, which will further enhance the platform's versatility.

In the creative field, the application of AI is becoming increasingly widespread. Since the launch of the enterprise version of Firefly in June 2023, Adobe has become a significant player in the field of AI content generation. Although some creators have expressed concerns about Adobe using their works to train models, Adobe has committed in 2024 not to use customer works to train the Firefly model, alleviating some public concerns.

As AI-generated image and video tools become more popular, an increasing number of businesses are beginning to rely on these tools to obtain and edit the image content they need. At the same time, the debate over whether AI-generated works infringe on artists' copyrights continues, with the public becoming increasingly sensitive to AI-generated artistic works.
