Today, Baidu officially released its fourth quarter and full-year financial report for the period ending December 31, 2024. The data shows that Baidu achieved revenue of 34.1 billion yuan in the fourth quarter of 2024, a decrease of 2% year-on-year; the total revenue for the year reached 133.1 billion yuan, a decline of 1% year-on-year. The net profit attributable to Baidu for the fourth quarter was 5.2 billion yuan, while the net profit not in accordance with U.S. GAAP was 6.7 billion yuan; the net profit attributable to Baidu for the entire year was 23.8 billion yuan, and the net profit not in accordance with U.S. GAAP was 27 billion yuan.
It is worth noting that Baidu specifically emphasized the strong growth of its artificial intelligence business in the financial report. According to the report, by December 2024, the daily call volume of Baidu's Wenxin large model had reached 1.65 billion times, an increase of 33 times compared to the same period in 2023. This data not only highlights Baidu's leading position in the AI field but also reflects the widespread recognition and strong demand for Baidu's AI technology in the market.
In addition, Baidu's intelligent cloud business is also showing rapid growth. The financial report indicates that in the fourth quarter of 2024, Baidu's intelligent cloud revenue increased by 26% year-on-year, becoming one of the key drivers of Baidu's performance growth.
Baidu's founder, chairman, and CEO Robin Li stated after the financial report release: “2024 is a crucial year for us as we transition from an internet-centric approach to an AI-first strategy. With our full-stack AI technology gaining broad market recognition, the growth of our intelligent cloud is becoming increasingly strong. In the mobile ecosystem, we have consistently promoted the AI-native reconstruction of search to enhance user experience.
