French startup Mistral AI has recently released the high-performance Mistral7B language model, available for free to all users. The model is released under the Apache2.0 license, with no restrictions on use or replication. Mistral plans to introduce a paid product, offering weights and source code as a white-box solution. Mistral AI aims to be a major supporter of the open generative AI community and provide state-of-the-art performance.
