OpenAI's AI services experienced an interruption in the early hours of December 27th, Beijing time, affecting the ChatGPT chatbot, the Sora video generation model, and some API calls.

By 6:05 AM, OpenAI announced that ChatGPT had partially restored its services, but the chat history loading feature remained limited, and the timeline for full restoration was still uncertain.

Regarding the specific cause of the service interruption, OpenAI stated it was "caused by upstream providers," while Microsoft Azure, the exclusive cloud service provider for OpenAI, also reported "power" issues at its data centers on the same day.

This is not the first time ChatGPT services have faced interruptions; similar service outages have occurred multiple times in recent months.
