Ant Group has released its 2024 Technology Ecosystem White Paper on its official technology Weibo account. The data in this white paper is updated as of the end of November 2024 and covers five aspects: patents, open source, standards, papers, and industry-university-research collaboration. The data shows that in the past year, Ant Group has continued to increase its investment in technological research and development, especially in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), continuously expanding the breadth and depth of its technology ecosystem.
As of the end of November 2024, Ant Group has a total of 34,576 global patent applications, with 97% being invention patents. The proportion of overseas patent applications is 35%. Among the applied patents, over 10% of important patents have been laid out internationally, covering multiple countries and regions including the United States, Europe, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, and South Korea.
In terms of open source, Ant Group has currently open-sourced 2,187 code repositories and over 100 leading open source projects. Notably, the AI-native data intelligent application development framework DB-GPT, which was open-sourced in May 2023, has gained nearly 140,000 community stars, with many enterprises integrating it into their production systems, covering application scenarios in finance, government affairs, the internet, and more. Additionally, Ant Group has initiated 86 international standards and 192 national standards, with the highest proportion of standards in the fields of security and trust, risk control and compliance, and artificial intelligence.
In collaboration with universities and research institutions, Ant Group has launched the "Ant InTech Technology Award" to encourage young scholars in innovative research in the field of computer science. In terms of paper publication, from January to November 2024, Ant Group published over 300 papers at international top conferences, of which 12% were papers shared on-site, with the highest proportion in the AI field, accounting for 46% of the total.
